Jon H. Fiva
I am a professor of economics at the Norwegian Business School (BI) where I teach econometrics and causal inference. As a researcher, I am particularly interested in how electoral institutions shape political outcomes, and how political representation impacts policy.
I am currently leading a project on the dynamics of political selection funded by the Norwegian Research Council. We study questions such as: What determines the career progression of an individual politician? Do all citizens of comparable quality have a fair chance of rising in the political hierarchy? How do political parties incentivize candidates to induce effort?
