Master's (One Year) Thesis in European Affairs

Congratulations and welcome to the course STVM24!

We are happy to welcome you to the Department of Political Science at Lund University. In order to accept and secure our offer, please read important information below carefully.

Compulsory introductory meeting 

The semester starts with a compulsory introductory meeting and thesis course introduction on January 15, at 13-15 in Eden 132A.

If you fail to attend without notifying the academic advisors, you will lose your spot on the course that will be offered to a student on the waiting list.

Eligibility and Conditional offer 

Specific Entry Requirements: To be eligible for the course the student must have passed at least 60 higher education credits of courses in the programme Master of Science (Two Years) in European Affairs, including 15 higher education credits in Methodology in Social Sciences.

Web registration

It is important that you do the web registration on time, or else you will lose your place which will then be offered to another applicant.

Thesis idea

We would like to ask you to please send your preliminary thoughts about a possible topic, puzzle, and research question(s), to Maria Strömvik before 5 p.m. on January 15. Should you want to change your topic after the hand-in, it will not be a problem. Please hand in a preliminary topic even if you still feel undecided. Or, feel free to hand in two topics!

Schedule and classes 

You can expect to have compulsory seminars on topics such as thesis plan, and three other seminars during the autumn, plus one-on-one supervision throughout the semester. The seminar topics and the extent of the seminars can be subject to change. More information will be given at the course introduction.
