Sweden's first international critical animal studies conference in Lund

Between Thursday 26 to Saturday 28 October, The Lund University Critical Animal Studies
Network (LUCASN) will be hosting Sweden’s very first international conference in Critical Animal
Studies. As co-founders of LUCASN, Jana Canavan and Kurtis Boyer from the Political Science
Department are co-organisers of the conference. The conference will take place at the Pufendorf
Institute.

Critical Animal Studies is a new and rapidly growing academic field merging cross-disciplinary critical research with the goal to further intersectional social justice in human-animal relations. The theme and title of the conference is: Nonhuman Animals in Society: exploring new pathways for resistance, change, and accommodation.

Over the course of the three days over 130 scholars and activists from 19 countries across 5 continents will be visiting Lund University for the 5th European Conference for Critical Animal Studies.
