Sjöstedt on securitization

Roxanna Sjöstedt has authored the book chapter “Assessing Securitization Theory: Theoretical Discussions and Empirical Developments” in the book “Securitization Revisited
Contemporary Applications and Insights” (edited by Michael Butler).

Sjöstedt provides a summary of the theoretical development of the concept of securitization over the past 20 years, and discusses different theoretical insights as to how threat images are constructed.

She also accounts for how securitization theory has been applied in relation to different threats – ranging from terrorism, to climate change and epidemics.
