Current research:
My research explores women's participation in peace negotiations, analyzing their roles and positions throughout different phases of the peace process, from pre-negotiation to comprehensive agreements. Grounded in feminist institutionalism and the concept of agency, my study investigates the patriarchal power dynamics that shape negotiation spaces and influence women's roles and agency. By applying a gender lens to negotiation theory, I seek to uncover the underlying power structures that shape decision-making at the peace table. For this, I am using a mixed-methods approach to deepen the understanding of the complexities surrounding women's involvement in peace negotiations—when they enter the process, the positions they assume and their capacity to shape outcomes.
