Main Research Interests
- Foreign Policy Analysis
- Public Leadership
- Intelligence and Security Studies
In my doctoral dissertation I studied the dynamics through which states make major changes in the their foreign policy orientations. The empirical part of the study consists of a case study of the Swedish government’s 1990 reorientation on the question of Sweden’s membership in the European Union. More recently, I have studied military security and intelligence agencies, exploring how secrecy influences organizational culture and procedures.
In my own teaching I give courses on political science methodology, foreign policy analysis and policy analysis. I have office hours Fridays 9-10 or by appointment.
