Summary, in English

In this concluding chapter, the editors take a step back, zoom out and reflect upon the significance of theoretical developments presented and what empirical implications this knowledge may have. In addition to discussing the state of this emerging research field of projectification, the chapter also opens up for further research and invites scholars from different fields of research and with different methodological approaches, thereby paving the way for an increased dialogue across disciplines. Even though the field has a broad social science repertoire there are several disciplines absent from the study of projectification, and the field is, as it stands right now, heavily influenced by qualitative approaches with a small number of case studies. The chapter ends with a hopeful wish that the book can work as an inspiration for students, academics and practitioners from both within and outside of the Nordic countries, to continue the study of contemporary societal development where the proliferation of ‘the project’ is set centre stage.
