Uhlin on AIIB legitimacy

Anders Uhlin has recently published the article “Legitimacy Struggles in Global Governance: Legitimation and Delegitimation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank” in SAGE Open.

Contributing to research on processes of (de)legitimation in global governance, the article develops a framework for analyzing legitimacy struggles paying equal attention to legitimation and delegitimation, and distinguishing between different institutional and discursive (de)legitimation practices.

The study demonstrates the variety of (de)legitimation practices related to the creation of a new international organization and highlights the contentious character of this process.
