Rola is a political sociologist, originally from Lebanon, trained in Europe and has extensive work experience in the US.

Current research and teaching
Rola El-Husseini’s research is mainly about the Middle East. Within that region she works on political elites, gender, and ethnic and sectarian conflict. Her previous work was about political reconstruction following conflict and her current book project is about women and political representation in the Arab world.
