Isabel Bramsen’s research focuses on micro-dynamics of peace and conflict. In 2023 Bramsen's book, "The Micro-Sociology of Peace and Conflict" will be published at Cambridge University Press. The book develops a novel theoretical and analytical framework and features chapters on violence, nonviolence, conflict transformation, peace talks and international mediation as well as on video data analysis.
Bramsen has done research on peace diplomacy, emotions, conflict theories, nonviolent resistance, Nordic cooperation on peace and conflict resolution as well as on Women Peace and Security. She has studies various conflicts including Colombia, Northern Ireland, the Philippines, Tunisia, Syria and Bahrain. Isabel Bramsen is a member of Nordic Women Mediators and co-other of, International Konfliktløsning (Samfundslitteratur 2016) and co-editor of the anthology, Addressing International Conflict: Dynamics of Escalation, Continuation and Transformation (Routledge 2019).
