Project administration and finances

On these pages you will find information about applying for research funding, responsibilities as project manager, ethical review, employment of a project doctoral student, implementation of a research project, your project finances, contractual issues and archiving of your research.

Responsibilities of project managers

The project manager is responsible for the project's budget and financial follow-up throughout the project. This means that the project is on budget and that the financing of direct and indirect costs is secured. The project manager must inform the head of department of deviations from the project budget that may lead to larger deficits, so that the problem can be identified and appropriate measures taken in time. Some grants need to be requisitioned 1-2 times a year and it is you as a project manager who must keep track of this and notify your financial advisor when it is time to do this.

Checklist for project managers

The project manager is responsible for regularly following up on the finances of their project. For this task, there are suitable follow-up reports in the financial system and also this suggestion for a checklist for project managers:

Contract issues

Our economists only handle the finances of your projects. If you have questions about contractual issues, you as the project manager should contact Lund University's Legal Department:

Archiving of research documents

Research is one of the University’s core activities. Documents generated by research are part of the University’s public records. It is therefore important for legal, administrative and scientific reasons that the documentation of our research is properly archived.
