Current research and teaching

I currently research the development of local democracy; a comparison between Sweden and Norway dealing with COVID-19 at the local level; and politization of Public Administration. I am Co-director of the EGPA (European Group for Public Administration study group on "Local governance and democracy". Within this framweork my interest is foremost to study the conditions for local autonomy. Related to research is being board member of International Center for Local Democracy (ICLD), which supports local democracy in developing countries. I teach various Public Administration courses, the introduction  course of the Master programme in political science and a leadership course in the Master programme in Welfare Policies and Management (WPM). I am also Chairman of the steering committee of this programme.
