Organising Politics Research Group

Studying the governance and organisation of society

On this page, we present the Organising Politics Research Group and our new public administration forum (Förvaltningsforum), including the conveners, researchers associated with the group, publications and upcoming seminars and events.

About the group

Departing from key concepts such as power, democracy, government and ethics, the members of this research group study issues that broadly concern the organization of politics and the politics of organizing within and beyond the public sector.

Issues related to the organization of politics includes a variety of different actors, ranging from public sector actors, trade unions and civil society organizations to private companies and consultancies. As such, the group takes an interest in all political levels, from international to sub-national, in democracies as well as authoritarian regimes.

The group is open to new members from a wide range of research fields and disciplines to take part in our activities. If you would like to join the group's mailing list, please do not hesitate to contact the conveners listed below.

Public administration forum (Förvaltningsforum

In addition to our research seminars, we now also have a Public Administration Forum (Förvaltningsforum) that brings together researchers, civil servants and students interested in the organisation and implementation of politics including activities such as the development of teaching, the organisation of open lectures and thesis collaboration.

KEFU seminar: When evaluation principles and methods are challenged by complex societal problems

Like many other countries, Sweden is currently experiencing a range of complex social problems, such as climate change, poverty, and cross-border crime, as well as the increasingly rapid development of information technology and AI, whose possibilities and risks few, if any, can fully comprehend.

In a newly published book, Evaluation in an uncertain time (2025), some 20 experienced civil servants and researchers contribute their reflections on the consequences of these challenges for the principles and methods of evaluation. This KEFU seminar will present the book's main conclusions, with a particular focus on the possibility of evaluating measures that are still on the drawing board in advance.

Participants: Lena Lindgren, Professor of Public Administration, School of Public Administration, University of Gothenburg.
Location: Spoletorp Lecture Hall, Spolegatan 1 R, Lund
Language: Swedish
