Research and teaching
My research focuses primarily on political parties and governments in European parliamentary democracies, focusing on topics such as, government formation, government stability, political institutions and party behaviour.
I am currently leading the project Party Government in Europe Database. This project and previous research projects are available at the European Representative Democracy Data Archive.
I currently teach about political parties and goverments, social movements and research methods, as well as supervising and examine at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Currently, I am also the Director of doctoral studies.
The Comparative Politics Research Group covers all major research areas in the field, including institutions, democracy and political development, parties and voting behavior, political economy, political psychology, public opinion, and public policy.
We specialize in the politics of OECD countries, but many of us also do research on Eastern Europe, Latin America, and other regions. In recent years, we have developed strong research environments on the study of parties and party systems, polarization and radicalization, and historical political economy.
