Minor Field Studies (MFS)

FIELD STUDIES IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

The Minor Field Studies programme, which aims to increase students’ knowledge of the economic, political, social and educational challenges faced by developing countries, is funded by SIDA (the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) and managed by the Swedish Council for Higher Education. The programme is intended for students in courses for Bachelor’s degrees, as well as Master’s degrees.

Students who intend to write a thesis in political science and plan to apply for a MFS scholarship must send a draft of their project description to the Department of Political Science’s MFS-coordinator (catia [dot] gregoratti [at] svet [dot] lu [dot] se) at least ten days before the deadline (and preferably much earlier).

The MFS-coordinator will act as a preliminary supervisor and make an assessment of the feasibility and relevance for political science of the proposed study. Applicants will get feedback on the draft and the certificate required for the application.
