 oira Nelson&nbsp\;Professor&nbsp\;Dryzek&nbsp\;is&nbsp\;one of the globall
 y most influential scholars in the fields&nbsp\;of democratic theory and p
 ractice and environmental politics. One of the instigators of the ‘delib
 erative turn’ in thinking about democracy\, he has published eight books
  in this area with Oxford University Press\, Cambridge University Press\, 
 and Polity Press. His work in environmental politics and climate governanc
 e has yielded seven books with Oxford University Press\, Cambridge Univers
 ity Press\, and Basil Blackwell.He has&nbsp\;further&nbsp\;worked&nbsp\;an
 d published extensively&nbsp\;on comparative studies of democratization\, 
 critical public policy analysis\, and the history and philosophy of social
  science. His current research emphasizes global justice\, governance in t
 he Anthropocene\, and confronting contemporary challenges to democracy.Joh
 n Dryzek is Distinguished Professor and former Australian Research Council
  Laureate Fellow in the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Gover
 nance at the University of Canberra.&nbsp\;Prior to that\, he was Distingu
 ished Professor of Political Science and ARC Federation Fellow at the Aust
 ralian National University. He is former Head of the Political Science Dep
 artments at the University of Oregon and University of Melbourne\, and of 
 the Social and Political Theory Program at ANU.&nbsp\;He Dryzek&nbsp\;is a
  Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia\, Corresponding Fel
 low of the British Academy\, and former editor of the&nbsp\;Australian Jou
 rnal of Political Science.&nbsp\;Given&nbsp\;John Dryzek’s&nbsp\;extraor
 dinary standing and the high topicality of his talk\, we hope that many of
