Why do some people engage in disability organizations while others choose not to?

In a new study, Stina Melander explores how individuals with acquired impairments view participation in disability organizations.

The findings show that engagement cannot be explained solely by time and resources. Equally important is whether the organization is perceived as relevant and whether individuals feel that their participation matters and can make a difference. The study also highlights how digital channels are changing pathways to involvement and how motivations for participation can shift over time.
