Hedling on the diplomatic practices of countering digital disinformation

Elsa Hedling has recently published the article ”Transforming practices of diplomacy: the European External Action Service and digital disinformation” published Open Access in the journal International Affairs.

The article explores the transformative role of practices of countering digital disinformation in European Union diplomacy. It argues that the rise in efforts to counter disinformation and the recruitment of new actors with different dispositions and skill sets than those of traditional diplomats and state officials, have contributed significantly to institutional transformation in the European External Action Service.
