Since I defended my thesis in 2007, I have been a Senior Lecturer at Lund University. In 2009-2010 I had an appointment as a researcher at the Pufendorf Institute project on Epigenetics. At present, I hold a post doc position, doing research on experts and democracy in national bioethical committees in Euroepan member states. In 2012 I was promoted to Excellent Teacher Practitioner. 

Generally experts and democracy, more specifically the role of ethical and scientific experts in policy-making on questions relating to life-sciences.

Research projects:

Present research projects on experts and democracy in national bioethical committees in European Union member states. Special focus on legitimacy, responsibility, participation, decision-making processes.

Dissertation (defended 2007) on the role of experts in the Swedish legislation process on medical gene technology 1981–2006. Asks the question about who should and who can exert influence in democratic decision making. Experts have access to political decision-making arenas on the basis of superior knowledge in their specialist fields. What are the democratic implications of this?
