Introduktion

Research profile and current engagements

My theoretical areas of interest revolve around issues of nationalism, identity construction, intractable conflict and conflict transformation. I currently work with topics relating to these problematiques within the framework of two research projects. One of those is Exploring Peacegaps. The other is Contested Adminstrations (2012-2015). Both are funded by the Swedish Research council.

During the academic year of 2012-2013 I serve as Acting Director for Peace and Conflict Research at the Department of Political Science.

Link to an article recently published in the European Journal of International Relations.

Current research activities

Between 2010-2012 I was a Post-doc in the the project Exploring Peace Gaps, funded by the Swedish Research council. This research project aims to shed new theoretical and empirical insights to the problematique of peace gaps in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Fråm 2012 and onwards I will we continously active within the project.

Between 2012-2015 I am part of the research project Contested Administrations: Conflict Resolution and the Development of Democracy. The overarching aim of this research project is to rethink and develop theoretical understandings of ways to handle conflicts in urban areas at different stages of democratic development. Theories of public administration is merged with conflict theory in order to develop a toolbox of strategies which can be used by public administrations and civil servants when aiming for constructive transformation of societal conflicts. The empirical studies focus on how different public administrations address conflicts in six urban areas (Malmö, Copenhagen, Belfast, Mostar, Mitrovica and Jerusalem).
