Introduktion
Fabio Cristiano is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Political Science since September 2011. His main area of research is concerned with analysing and understanding the role of civil society in peace processes and peacebuilding practices. Other areas of interest are public diplomacy and action research. He's part of the research project "Exploring peace gaps in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict" with Karin Aggestam and Lisa Strömbom. The project, part of the strategic research initiative MECW (Middle East in Contemporary World), aims to investigate and shed light on the existing gaps between elite-oriented peace negotiations and grassroot peacebuilding practices. Fabio holds a master degree in Conflict Resolution and Governance from the University of Amsterdam. Prior to this, he received a master in International Development Administration from Leiden University and a bachelor degree in Political Science from the University "L'Orientale" in Naples. In 2005, he also spent one semester at the University Paris-Est.
